Cyclone Phyan passed Goa on November 11. 2009. We were a bit worried when early in the morning a large tree was blown down barely missing Maila and Rashid's house and the Arabian Sea had risen to the wall of The Meems Arabian Sea restaurant.

Rashid and Benny made many phone calls and it was determined that a rather big cyclone was headed our way and would come ashore north of our position on Ashwem Beach.

So the Meems Team battened down the hatches and pulled in the battered sails (parachutes) and tied down everything possible, and covered the kitchen with tarps.
